Rain!!!
Mark this on your calender. It is raining in Southern Illinois. We have been dry for a while now and this rain is wonderful. But it comes a little late for the garden and the hay field. Oh well, the grass will grow now and that means I will have to mow once again. The horses are even enjoying it. Munching on grass while all the dirt and dust gets washed off of them.

Boogie Woogie Girl
On Sat. May 30th, we attended Aaron's cousin's wedding. (The kids went with us of course.) Sydney is like me. She likes her sleep. She and I were ready to go to bed around 9pm. Brooke is like her dad. I think she could stay up all night long. She also gets her dance moves from him. She didn't want to stop dancing. Here is a short video of her on the floor bustin a move.

She cracks me up!!!!

What a weekend
This past weekend seemed very long. Friday started out with just Aaron and I and some friends heading out for dinner and some drinks. Nothing too exciting. Saturday we were off to out friends annual Memorial Party. Not too long of a night. The food was excellent, the kids played hard, and I came home with a few new bug bites. Sunday we headed out in the afternoon for a 4wheeler ride. It was a great ride. I can't wait for the next one. Monday was supposed to be a day of rest by the pool. Me and the kids did sit by the pool, (while trying to dodge the rain drops). It was not a day for swimming although I did manage to get a little sun.
Anyway, I took pictures but I am just a little lazy to get them up. Maybe later.

It's been FOREVER!!!
Well it had been about 5 months since my last post. We have been doing the usual stuff around the house now that spring has arrived. The yard has been fertilized and mowed, flowers have been planted, (well a few), and the hummingbirds are back. On the days it is nice Sydney and I have been outside a lot enjoying the warm air. Lately the rain has been chasing us back inside. Like right now, we have had almost 2 inches of rain so it will take about 3 days to dry out enough to venture back into the yard. We still have lot of holes with mud in them around, but its getting better.
Brooke has almost finished her first year of school. 1st grade is right around the corner. School lets out the end of May. I think she is excited but I'm not. My baby is growing older by the moment. Before long she will be one of those horrible teens with PMS all the time.
Sydney is growing too. She is turning into my little monster. So much different than Brooke was.

Anyway, life is great here on the farm!! Here are are some pictures from the past 6 months.

2 Hours Left
There is 2 hours left in 2008. We celebrated Sydney's birthday today. She turned 2. My baby is growing up too fast.
Me, Mom and Brooke are going to bring in the new year in style. In our PJ's on the couch. I have a feeling that Brooke will outlast us all.

Clean Carpets!!!
Stanley Steemer came and cleaned my carpets today. It was well worth it. They look great. I really didn't know how dirty they were till I saw the difference. About 3 hours and they had the whole house clean. Now comes the long part of waiting for it all to dry so I can put everything back. Oh how fun that will be.

Major Milestone
A major thing has happened in the Kincaid house. Sydney doesn't need her paci any more. It is real sad for me though. I'm losing my baby and getting a big girl.

October

October seems to be a very busy month. It started off with Brooke's 6th birthday then proceeded with our 9th Halloween Party. It continued with Fall Festival last week and finally ending this Friday with Halloween. I hope Nov. is a lot calmer.
About two weeks ago a group of ladies went over to Indiana to the Covered Bridge Festival for a little craft shopping. It was not what I expected. We only saw one bridge. It was more like a great big craft fair.
The other night Brooke lost her second front tooth. Now I call her toothless. The tooth fairy thankfully wasn't late this time.
Cisco the horse is getting some teeth pulled tomorrow then he is off next week to school for the winter.
Here are a few pictures from the month.

My baby turns 6!!

Last Friday my 5 lb 9 oz bundle of joy turned 6. My, where has time gone. She was so little when we brought her home. Now she is still little just taller. She spent the evening at the bowling alley with some of her friends. I surprised her with a new Hannah Montana room. She seems to be into her for the time being. Hope it lasts a little while, Hannah charges a pretty penny for her stuff. Any hoo, she had a great evening and enjoyed all the gifts she got.
Happy Birthday Baby Girl!! Mommys little sweet pea.

Not Much
Not much as been happening since my last post. Its been pretty mundane around here. Wake up, get Brooke ready for school, feed Sydney (a lot), feed the animals, house work, etc... Right now it looks like it is getting ready to rain again.
Fall starts Monday. I am looking forward to the cooler weather. I will be able to leave the windows open longer than 2 days. Snuggly sweatshirts come out again and hot chocolate tasted real good again and the leaves change. But that also means Christmas is just around the corner. Great.

Look - Twins

For the last two days, I have watched Sydney's boyfriend Evan. He is such a delightful little boy and Syd just adores him. They play so well together as you can see. It felt a little like having twins. It funny how kids can get on the same schedule. When one pooped the other soon did. I was changing diapers all day it seemed. When one wanted a snack, so did the other.

Rainy day
It rained all day today. How comes when it rains, you just feel like sitting on the couch and stuffing you face. Well I sat on the couch today. Didn't do much eating though. I did get all my fall stuff out this morning. Sydney helped. Now the sun has gone down and the kids need bath's, the horses fed, and the rest of the house put to bed. Aaron is gone on his golf trip for the weekend. He'll be back Sunday sometime. This gives me time to clean the house without him here. Now I need to get the girls in the bath. Good night world.

New friends

We had some old friends come over Saturday to watch football and hang out for a while. They have a 2 year old son Nick. Brooke I think fell in love with him. She took him around and played with him and had a ball. Sydney had someone to talk with who like everyone else could not understand her. Any way, here are a few shots from the afternoon. The third hairy one is Hank.

The weekend

Cory had his 30th Birthday party on Saturday. It started out a nice quite party with us old people but by the end of the night the younger crowd had taken over. I stayed until about 1am. Some people made it until about 4:30. I was tucked nicely in bed at that time. We all had a good time. Sunday was a day of rest. I didn't even clean out the barn. Just fed the horses and went back to bed. In the afternoon, after Sydney's nap we went down to the Kincaid community Pool (aka - Pat and Stan's house). We sat around there and conversed some REAL interesting conversations. I was still not feeling all that well but managed to choke down a few beers. Here are a few pics from Saturday.

Day of cleaning
I have spent the last two days cleaning this house from top to bottom. Some of it still looks like I never touched it. Others look 200% better. Now I need to start going though all the junk and get rid of it. The basement storage room I will start to tackle next week. It needs cleaned up sooo bad.
Brooke is enjoying kindergarten. So far she is eating the school lunch and not complaining.

Maybe it is a Farm??
I am starting to feel like I live on a farm. With all the critters we seem to accumulate, I wonder if we could collect a farm credit. Lets see I have... 2 dogs, 5 cats, 2 horses, 3 turtles, 4 goldfish, 2 little girls, and one husband. I could start a petting farm. I would probably have to pay people to pet the last one though.
Ring the bell - School's In

My baby is starting Kindergarden tomorrow. Where has time gone. She is starting to get a little nervous now. I think that all day thing will get to her. Trying to get her to bed will also be a challenge. She's never tired to know. We are going to get a hair trim today and get the last few things she need before the big day. I just can't wait I think.

What a great time we all had on the canoe trip. No fights, no trips to the jail, nothing major. Almost kinda boring. Oh well. The weather was great, the water felt nice. On Sunday we always stop at Lambert's and eat. Boy do you get your moneys worth. Here are a few pics from the weekend.

Sunday
Today was by for the best weather day here. The sun actually came out. So I loaded up the girls and went over to Caladesi Island. We took the ferry over to the island where we spent about 3 hours playing on the beach and eating ice cream. Shania really enjoyed herself.
Now we are getting ready to head home tomorrow. The week is over and we are all ready to get back I think. I have a ton of laundry to do when I get back.

Saturday
Today we mostly just layed around. It rained again so there was not too much we could do. In the evening, Uncle Justin did come and take Brooke and Shania ice skating for the first time. Shania was a natural. Brooke had a hard time keeping her balance. But in the end she got the hang of it as was skating by herself with the help of an ice walker. She didn't want to leave.
Aaron and I went out with some friends that evening. We didn't get home until about 1am.

Friday
Lets see, yesterday was a lazy day. We did nothing but watch it rain. Today we watched it rain in the afternoon then took the boat out for a spin around the gulf. We ended up going to a small island with lots of shells on it. The girls had a great time finding them and chasing the fish. Sydney just loved being able to run where she wanted too. When we were heading back in we came upon a small pod of dolphins hunting fish. The younger ones would jump up out of the water and chase the fish. They came soo close to the boat that if we wanted to we could have reached out and touched them. Brooke and Shania thought this was the best part of the trip.
After we cleaned up and rested for a short short time we headed off to Chuck E Cheese's where we all got to be kids again. This is the best place to take kids when you want a break. You can let them run and not be afraid of someone running off with them. The kids stamps must be matched up with the parents. Brooke and Shania both came home with lots of junk from there.
Sydney is asleep already and I need to try to get the girls to go to bed. I'm tired. All pictures will be on the website.

Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom was a lot of fun. Brooke was in such a mood she really did not enjoy the park until the end of the day. We went to Dino Land first to try to cheer her up but she wanted to do nothing. Shania and I on the other hand rode the ride there and even got Aaron on the Dinosaur ride. He said it reminded him of Cory's driving.
We were all lucky that when we got there because we got "Dream Fastpasses" This means that we didn't have to wait in all of the long lines. The longest we waited was about 15 minutes. Shania and I wrode Everest twice. It was a really cool ride.
The girls got their faces painted once again. Brooke started her Disney pin collection and got more characters autographs.
The park closed at 8 so we left about 7:30.

Day 3
Today we went and got a new computer. The one I am typing on as we speak is about to give up. I don't know if I will be able to transfer everything or not. We took the girls shopping today at the mall. Sydney stayed with Grandma and took a long nap. She is fast asleep in her bed right now.
Tomorrow we are going to Disney's Animal Kingdom. It is the first time any of us have been there.

Day 2
Yesterday we didn't do too much. The girls played in the pool and later in the evening we went to the beach for about a hour. There was no one there so the girls had the run of the beach. Aaron and I did a little shopping and took the computer in for a tune up. I ran into trouble up loading the Busch Gardens pictures, so there will be no pics until we get the computer back. Today will probably be about the same as yesterday, not much going on. Tomorrow we plan on going to Animal Kingdom.

Florida Day 1
Well, we are on our family vacation in sunny Florida. We got here yesterday afternoon after a 2 hour flight from Indy. The ride was nice and quite. Brooke and Shania watched movies and Sydney slept the whole way.
Today we went to Busch Gardens and spent the day riding roller coasters and dodging rain and lightning. See, this is Florida's rainy season. So a few afternoon showers are to be expected. Anyway, Shania and I did most of the riding. Brooke and Grandma played, oh and daddy too. He doesn't like the rides. We saw lots of animals like lions, tigers, elephants, zebra, and chimps, just to name a few. The girls got their faces painted. Brooke got a white tiger and Shania was a cheetah. Sydney was an angel until the end of the day. She was pretty beat like the rest of us. All the pictures will be on the website. Aaron also played games with the girls and won them a few "small" stuffed animals to bring home. Notice the word small. Yea right.
Anyway, we had a great day. Tomorrow we will be sleeping in and maybe going to the beach for a little while.
Good night all!!

Look what I found...
I was heading over to see the horses and happened upon this little turtle laying eggs by the fence. I don't know how long she had been there or how many eggs she laid but she must have been finishing up. She would drop one in the hole and shove it down in there. When she was done she covered them back up with mud.

Its soooooo hot.....
What is the need for all this heat. I mean, it kills all the pretty flowers and grass, you can't go out because of the heat and horse flys. Brooke is driving me crazy with wanting to go outside and play with the kittys. But it is just too flippen hot. Now we are heading to Florida this weekend where it is, you guessed it, HOT. And just think, in a couple of months, I will probably be saying it is too cold outside. I can't be pleased I guess.

The Graduate
Brooke graduated from Pre-K on the 15th. She looked so cute in her red cap and gown. They even got to keep the tassels. It was a long deal. About an hour to go through all the things. Brooke got the Sweet Tart award for being such a sweet kid. All the kids got awards based on what candy the most resembled.

Spring is Here!!!
Spring is finally here. It was a beautiful weekend. Sunday, me and the girls spent the whole day outside doing odds and ends. I finally got the Christmas lights down. Brooke helped me put her play house back together that the storm last year tore apart. Andrea came over and brought her soooo cute dog Biscut. Hank, Chase and him had a lot of fun playing all afternoon. All three were wore out by the time she left. I hope the good weather is here to stay!!!

Peeping Tom
The other day I was walking through the house and happened to see something out of the corner of my eye. Low and behold there was a peeping tom looking in the window at the front door. He had to have seen me, but I guess it was just too nice inside not to stop and watch. It was cold and rainy out. He sat there for about 5 mins before flying off into the rain.

Poor Sydney got 5 shots today. It was time for her 1 years. The first one shocked her so she didn't cry. The last 4 brought on the tears full force. But no more till she goes to school.

Back from Paradise
Cancun was such a great time. We all can't believe it is over. We are already planning our trip next year. I climbed a 120 step pyramid, Aaron got on a horse, and we all made it back alive and sunburned. We had about a 5 mile walk from Walmart back to our hotel because we missed the last bus stop as we were walking through town. Boy that was fun. Aaron was the only one that missed out on that adventure. Marty passed out in the hotel lobby. We debated on whether to write his room number on his head and see if someone would return him. We didn't though. There were a lot of topless people that shouldn't have been. The weather was great. Marty took me for a ride on a jet ski. I understand why LaDonna didn't want to go. Holy Crap!!!! I thought I was going to die. Anyway, can't wait till next year.

October
This has been a very busy month. We had our Halloween Party on the 20th. This was our 8th year having it. We had a lot dress up this year. Brooke was in the Little Miss Pageant and got to ride on a float in the Fall Festival Parade. She had such a great time. Sydney got to go on her first Trick-or-Treating adventure. She dressed up as Holly Hobby. Brooke was a kitty cat. I am worn out and glad this month is over.

Wild Ride
It was a dark and stormy night... Well not really. It was dark though. See we went out to Dwaine and Kitty house for a weenie roast and hayride. The roast was great. The fire was great. The hayride, well lets just say it was one for the record books. Someone got the great idea to go across a field with a very deep, dirt crossing. The truck made it up fine, but the hay wagon didn't. We all dumped - straight down on the the ground. It was a very safe ride, let me tell you. We still had a great time and a great laugh. No one got hurt. By the way, it was Nicole, Eden, and Sydney's first ride. You go girls.

Field Trip
Brooke and her Pre-school class went on a field trip to Tradition Farms in Iola. I went a long to have some fun too. We all got to go on a hay ride, the kids got to do a straw and bean maze, the got to pet rabbits and feed goats. I think they all had a great time. (Even though mom froze her butt off just watching.) Above are some pics from the day.

New happenings!!
A lot has happened since I last wrote. We brought Cisco come on the 30th of Sept. He seems to have adjusted nicely. I have going down everyday and working a little bit with him on grooming and ground work.
Sydney has cut her bottom teeth - finally. She has been very grumpy lately because of them.
And Brooke celebrated her 5th birthday last night. My little girl is growing up so fast. The second kid is growing even faster. Whoa is me...

Planting trees

Today Brooke and I planted some trees. I plan on taking her picture next to it every year on her birthday to show how much her and the tree grow. We also planted one for Sydney. She was napping when we did this so I didn't her picture. We planted a Colorado Blue Spruce and a Norway Spruce. Hopefully they won't die.

It Happened!!
Well it finally happened. Brooke got sent to the nurses office. It seems a boy in her class got her to stick her hand under a rubber band while it was stretched. When she did this, he let go. Ouch!!! Anyway, she's okay. No harm no foul. Kids will be kids. She also spilled her milk on her today and had to change her clothes. It was a bad day for her.
Sydney was grouchy today again. I sure wish she would get those pesky teeth. Her mood would probably change.
